Bus drivers are provided under a contract with Hawaii Tran-Zit Company. Shared-Ride taxi services are provided by Percy's Taxi, Bob's Taxi, Paradise Taxi, Ace One Taxi, and Hilo Harry's Taxi.
BUDGET
Expenditures during fiscal year 1997-98 amounted to $959,463, a nine percent (9%) decrease from fiscal year 1996-97. The major factors for the decrease were a lower contractual rate for the Bus drivers and a lower vehicle liability insurance premium.
HIGHLIGHTS
Ridership increased four percent (4%) from the previous fiscal year and totaled 277,002 passenger trips. The continued increase shows the community's dependence and use of the County's transportation services.
