Lincoln Ashida LINCOLN S. T. ASHIDA

LINCOLN S. T. ASHIDA was appointed Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai`i in December of 2000. He graduated from Hilo High School in 1980, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1984, and his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in 1987. Mr. Ashida is a former deputy prosecuting attorney for the County of Hawai`i, who successfully prosecuted many high-profile cases. He is licensed to practice law in Hawaii and is also admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. Mr. Ashida is a former president of the Hawai`i County Bar Association and is a current member of the Hawai`i State Bar Association and the Hawai`i County Bar Association. He is currently involved with the Hawai`i Island Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawai`i, the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, the Kalanianaole School Foundation, the Kamehameha Schools Parent-Teacher Ohana, the Boy Scouts of America, and Volunteer Legal Service Hawai'i. Mr. Ashida also contributes his time in judging high school mock trial and other competitions and speaking at various community forums. Mr. Ashida is currently an instructor in the Political Science Division at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo.

Gerald Takase

GERALD TAKASE

GERALD TAKASE is the Assistant Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai`i. He graduated from Hilo High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Willamette University where he was a member of the golf and wrestling teams. He also was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Mr. Takase received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Hawai`i, William S. Richardson School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Hawai`i and is also admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Hawai`i, the Court of Military Appeals and the Army Court of Review. He previously worked for the Law Offices of William Rosdil and was a deputy prosecuting attorney with the County of Hawai`i. Mr. Takase is currently a Staff Judge Advocate, Lieutenant Colonel with the Hawaii Army National Guard. He has been an active member of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is a former Young Lawyers Division Director. Mr. Takase currently serves as Treasurer of the Hawai`i County Bar Association. He is a director of Na Leo Public Access Television, a director of Big Island Junior Golf, a past vice-president and director of the Lehua Jaycees and a past president of the Hilo High School Alumni Association. Mr. Takase is also active with the Waiakea Pirates and is a volunteer with the Neighborhood Legal Clinics and the Divorce Clinic.
