IVAN M. TORIGOE ulu print

Ivan M. Torigoe is a member of the counseling and drafting division. His current assignments include the Department of Public Works, the Planning Commission, Department of Environmental Management, and various other committees. Some of his special assignments have included the zoning and permitting litigation of Kelly v. 1250 Oceanside Partners, aka the Hokuli`a development in Kona, and the police Microwave Radio Replacement Project.

Mr. Torigoe is a graduate of Hilo High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in English from the University of Washington, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Mr. Torigoe is licensed to practice law in Hawai`i and is admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Hawai`i.

Prior to joining the team at the Office of the Corporation Counsel, he was in private practice with the firm of Case and Lynch in Hilo.

He is a member of the Hawai`i State Bar and the Hawai`i County Bar Associations.
