Salary Commission Members
The Salary Commission consists of nine members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council. Six members are representatives of the County geographical areas of Puna, Ka`u, Kona, Kohala, Hamakua, and Hilo; and three members are representatives of the County-at-large. Current commission members (there are four vacancies) and their expiration dates are:

By County Charter, the commission is assigned the task of establishing the salaries for the mayor, the prosecuting attorney, county council members, and appointed officials.
