BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:

Section 1. Section 16-10 of the Hawaii County Charter is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 16-10. Hawaii Redevelopment Agency. [The status of the Hawaii redevelopment agency shall not be affected by this charter.] The Hawaii redevelopment agency shall be abolished, and its powers, functions, rules and regulations transferred to the planning director, on January 1, 2001."

Section 2. Charter material to be repealed is bracketed. New charter material is underscored.
