The deadline to turn in the applications for the seasonal and permanent Absentee Mail Ballot is Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4:30pm. You must fill out an Absentee Application in order to receive a ballot in the mail. You can request an application from the Hilo office by calling 961-8277, or from the Kona office by calling 327-3633.

Absentee Walk-In Early Voting will start on Friday, September 3, 2010 and ends on Thursday, September 16, 2010. If you know where your polling place will be, follow this link to view where your Absentee Walk-In Location is. Don't forget to bring your picture ID in order to vote at these locations.

Big Mahalo goes out to the League of Women Voters for assisting the Elections Division with registering voters at the Wikiwiki Voter Registration Drives. The Primary Election is on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The polls open at 7:00am and close at 6:00pm. If you are registered and would like to find out where your polling place is, follow this link to the State Elections Website's Polling Place Locator.

Looking for some extra cash? The County of Hawaii Elections Division is looking for Precinct Officials to work at various precincts around the island during the Primary and General Elections. Please contact the Elections Division at 933-1591 for more information.

The Hilo Elections Division Office is located on Aupuni St. in the County Building,

and the Kona Satellite Office is located on Hualalai Rd.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, and the Kona Office closes on weekdays from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm.
