Mass Transit Press Release

The County of Hawaii Transit Agency launched a new daily Hele On bus service for West Hawaii on March 1, 2005.

The Pahala-to-Mauna Kea Beach Hotel bus is a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, and passengers ride in air-conditioned comfort leaving at 3:30 a.m. from the Pahala Shopping Center northbound, arriving at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel at 6:55 a.m.

The round trip from Ocean View to Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and back is FREE. Travelers from Pahala to Ocean View pay a one-way fare of $2.25. Children under the age of three (3) traveling with an adult ride FREE.

The Hele-On Bus departs Mauna Kea Beach Hotel daily at 2:30 p.m. southbound to return to Ocean View and Pahala.
