HCRC is a program within the County’s Department of Research and Development. We encourage collaboration between communities and Hawaii County government to develop solutions to community needs and issues. Our services include:

picture of a blue umbrella labelled "Hawaii County Resource Center Volunteer Program" open and hovering over six boxes individually labelled: Newsletter; Facilitation; Office; Training; Community; and Grants.

All of these activities are intended to assist community groups in their efforts to improve the quality of life for all of us. In order to achieve this, HCRC needs the help of community-minded volunteers and facilitators.

What is "Capacity Building?"

Capacity building is a process that empowers people to plan for the future, address issues, and manage and solve problems.
